We have a communal space (this used to be our sheep shed but is now fondly named The Baaa!), where we host get-togethers for our site guests to meet should they wish. Everyone is welcome to pop into this area to socialise. This space houses a washing up area with hot water as well as fridges, freezers and electric sockets for your use.
‘’ Willow acres Campsite is a brand new campsite for 2022. We are the 3rd generation of farmers and aim to go into the future supporting the farm in a different way. We care passionately about our farm and environment wishing to share our vision of a sustainable and low impact camping experience with the Greener Camping Club members. All of our pitches within the Willow Acres Campsite are named after our animals who have left lasting memories for us. As it was our Grandparents who first came to Lasgarn farm in the 1940’s this is a way of keeping their stories alive and of course acknowledging that without all their hard work, care and love we would not have this opportunity today. ‘’

Custards story…we immediately think of sweet yellow creamy custard as a lovely desert, however it was in this instance the name was given to a beautiful yellow calf. So named because of her colour- though she was not exactly sweet! She was indeed a beautiful yellow colour with white tufty hair too, so very pretty. So was as feisty as you like though, and very jumpy. She would clear a jump over a five bar gate no problem often leaving a very bewildered and huffing crowd of us staring after her as she hightailed it away up the field. She was a very difficult girl indeed, but we remember her fondly.

Snowy & Lumpys story… These two were two handed reared calves that John and I reared ourselves. As their mums were less than attentive it was over to the family to take care of them from just a few days old. They were small and helpless, and very cute Snowy was a white fluffy cute girly calf and Lumpy a boy, with brown fur and big beautiful eyes. Over the months their bottles of milk became buckets of milk and they grew and grew. It became quite unnerving to call them for their milk by the end - having a huge ‘calf’ hurtling at high speed toward you for their ‘milky time ‘! Lovely memories of them though.

Bonnie & Dot’s story… Always to remain a couple. These were among my Grandparent’s first animals back in the 1940’s. Bonnie was the welsh cob farm horse who worked the fields with my Grancha and Dot was the tiny kitten that followed her everywhere! Little Dot was so named because she was all black apart from the white dot on her forehead! Bonnie being so huge made them the most unlikely of companions. The pair by all accounts inseparable. Dot would walk around the fields when Bonnie was working and at night sleep in the stable by her side. So memorable was their friendship that I found little stories written by my Nan about them many years later. And we will keep you two together.

Butch’s story…. This special lad is the only animal to be currently residing on Lasgarn farm today. He has his own pitch because he is so spectacular. If you spot him you will see what we mean. He struts around like the farm belongs to him alone and has all the time in the world it seems! However he is a very caring fellow and looks after his ladies beautifully- making sure they are safely tucked in each night. He has the most fantastic fluffy red yellow and red trousers and loves to puff out his chest making him even huger than he already is. You may have guessed- it's Cath’s Cockerel. He is possibly the one you hear in the mornings….

Curly's story…. As you can imagine this lovely girl had curly hair! She was a pretty brown cow and her hair constantly looked like her mum had been licking her as it was shiny and full of lick marks and curls. Although we remember her fondly, she was, if I recall well, rather an evil one when she was in a mood and you especially did not venture near her when she calved down. No chance! However she gets a pitch named after her because she was so memorable even if it was for mixed reasons!
